MYLES PREVIOUS WORK:
Myles, an accomplished guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, and blues harp player, has performed with many CT bands over the years. In the late 1970’s he performed with his first show group called, “The Sands.” They were one of the first groups doing two show sets of 50s & 60s music in period outfits, and they were the house band at The Autumn House in Cheshire from 78 to 81. He was also one of the founding members of “Hey Tonight,” a CCR tribute, “The Clear Lake Band,” a Buddy Holly tribute, and “ZZ Boogie,” a tribute to ZZ Top, which he was the founder of and still performs today. He is also a talented singer/songwriter and recording engineer, both in the studio and at live concerts, doing sound for show groups like “The Hofners.” One of New England’s biggest Beatles tribute shows.
He is also the founder of “MStan Productions,” which produced a great number of demo recordings for many area bands, including original recordings. Myles was instrumental in recording the first John Lennon tribute record on December 9th, 1980, called “Imagine: A Tribute to John Lennon,” which was produced by Charles Rosenay and sold more than 1000 copies. His most notable original songs were “Everybody Loves a Winner” in 2006, “We Need You Now” in 2011, and “American Dream” in 2024. The videos can be seen at www.youtube.com/smokindrinker. His musical influences are very wide and range from what is now considered classic rock to blues, country, pop, Motown soul, jazz, and symphony. Featuring names like Stevie Ray Vaughn, Grand Funk, Led Zeppelin, Frank Zappa, America, Bryan Adams, Brad Paisley, The Beatles, George Benson, Eric Clapton, Little Walter, Allman Brothers, B.B. King, The Eagles, Earth, Wind & Fire, Billy Joel, Heart, Elton John, Chicago, and of course, ZZ Top, who he became a fan of in the summer of 1973, when he first heard “La Grange.” Today, as part of Rosewood Grooves, he is the musical director and arranger and uses his multi-instrumental ability to add the different shades of tone to the music behind singer “Annie Wilson.”
